In October 2018, I visited El Rocio for the first time. This town impressed me so much. It beams you right into the wild west scenario. Sandy, unpaved roads (which are easier for horse hooves) are the main characteristic of this place. The unique houses have wooden rails with a sign in front saying ‘reservado caballos’ (reserved for horses) where you can tie your horse.

Beautiful towns with great history, friendly people, surf vibes, endless olives groves and great temperatures are the main facts of this spanish province. I enjoyed it a lot.

Recently, in September 2018, I had the chance to visit the Ukrainian capital Kiev for the first time. My expectations were nearly none so it was even more impressive to see how diverse and colourful this city was. I love the mixture of history, tradition, old roughness in combination with sovjet architecture, modern brutalism and this amazing focus on contemporary art. It is a city worth visiting!

Every year, I travel to Scotland. Not only because this country is extremely beautiful but also because my sister and my niece and nephew live in the Highlands. It's always a pleasure to visit them and to enjoy the landscape. It's stunning to see this roughness in nature. 

Sankt Peter Ording is actually not that far away from Hamburg but I just made it there once. I always wanted to visit this place because as a teenager I watched a German TV show which was filmed there. It's a amazing place with such a width - it takes hours to get from A to B. Absolutely worth a visit.

I've been to England several times as a teenager. My family always had a big interest in the British culture and lifestyle. So, it was important for me to travel through this country again as a grown up and with my camera.

England has so many beautiful places to offer. Even though we only stayed 3 weeks in South, Middle and North England my camera roll was packed with photos. This series is just a little selection of what I saw and captured. 

Hamburg is my new home. Ever since I moved here in 2014 this city has been very inspirational for me. Hamburg brought back the motivation of concentrating on urban photography again. I love wandering around the city, visiting the Elbe or Alster, inhaling the view of the harbor or enjoying the beauty of the Speicherstadt. It's a great place to live because it's way more laid back and relaxed than other German cities.

This is a series of my hometown. Where I was born and bred.

I visited Bremen in early 2016. It's a city with a beautiful city centre and a very old neighborhood called the Schnoorviertel. Even though it was a cold day we enjoyed every minute outside because all the little streets were just so perfect for a photo.

Prague is an amazing city. If I had to choose between Paris and Prague I'd always choose this beautiful Czech town. Same as Paris, unfortunately it's a very touristy place but besides that you can still enjoy the city vibe with its' different shops, restaurants, its' castle and stunning architecture.

Ever since the movie with Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleesan I was curious about this city. Although a lot of people told me that Bruges is very touristy and crowded I still wanted to visit this place in Belgium. So, we stayed two nights at an Airbnb close to the city center. The first morning I woke very early and went for a photo walk at sunrise. Luckily, all the people were still asleep. Just the weekly market on the main square was getting busy. It was a great atmosphere being all by myself in those beautiful alleys and streets.

The first time I was in Copenhagen was last year (2016). We stayed only the weekend and I must admit I wanted to stay longer. There is so much to discover and the city walks along the water or to the castle or through the streets of the city center were great. I also enjoyed little coffee breaks in amazingly designed cafés. 

London is always a pleasure to stay in. I love the vibes of this busy metropole. You can wander around for hours enjoying the diversity of cultures. The mixture of neighborhoods, restaurants, people, street art, food in combination with its' architecture and parks is just wonderful. 

Rotterdam is a very modern city. Despite this amazing and very diverse architecture I was quite impressed by the old part of town: Delfshaven. Most of my pictures were taken there, on a beautiful sunny autumn day. It was still so warm that the people sat outside and enjoyed their drinks in the sun.

Metro stations are a great place to take photos of. I love the symmetry they offer, the depth and futuristic style. Also, it's very interesting how different they are designed. This selection of photos is showing metro stations in Hamburg, Berlin, Prague and London.

During our road trip through the UK I developed a big interest for old trains and railways. My first ride with an old train was in Swanage. It was great listening to the sounds, smelling the smoke and sitting on this old bench enjoying the beautiful landscape. Since then I was focused on visiting other old railway stations such as Corfe Castle, Beamish (close to Durham) and Tanfield. Luckily, we also visited a repair shop of old trains close to Tanfield where I also took a lot of photos.

My mother is originally from Frankfurt. My grandmother used to live close by and as a child we often spent our summer holidays there. Even though this is just a little photo series of this city I captured the most important characteristics of this city: modern vs. old architecture, the beautiful forest of the Feldberg nearby and of course the picture of the airport.

Once in a while I like to create conceptual photos. They begin as ideas and grow until I find fun people to realize them with. So, this series was a great project with friends who were transformed into clowns. After I portrayed them they enjoyed presenting their looks on the balcony, showing them to the pedestrians on the road in the middle of Kreuzberg.  

This is a wild mixture of portraits I made in the last months. Usually, I like to focus on close ups, just a plain background and the expression of the person pictured. But sometimes there are also interesting surroundings which are great to be used a small stage. 

Back in 2007, I created this photo series where I wanted to portray people with their phones. At that time it was common to save the favorite text messages we received, always figuring out which ones to delete when there was not enough storage on the phone. 
So, my idea was to take pictures of the people and asking them to write down their favorite message. For me, it was important to also show the handwriting of the person pictured because this also is a unique characteristic which is related to them. 

'TRANSLUCENT' is a photo series I created for my final assignment at my photo design degree. These studio photos were made as a commercial for lingerie being focused on the light fabric which is used for these products. The title of this series is related to this, so I used a fabric which I stretched between the camera lens and the model.
